Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 September 2026
Mornin’ is an alarm clock app published by Retrofire LLC, a company based in Georgia, United States (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and what stays on your iPhone.
The short version. Our servers hold your account and a copy of your alarms and routines, and that copy only ever goes up: the app never downloads it onto a phone. Your home, work and other saved addresses never reach our servers. We do not show ads, we do not use any tracking or analytics service, and we do not sell your information.
Your account
Mornin’ needs an account. Our hosting provider, Supabase, stores:
- your email address
- your display name
- how you sign in: email and password, Apple, or Google
- a link to your profile picture, if your Google account provides one
- the date your account was created
If you sign in with Apple or Google, that company handles the sign-in itself, under its own privacy policy.
The copy of your settings
While you are signed in, the app saves a copy of the following to your account:
- your alarms: their times, days, names, sounds, missions and snooze settings, including the signature you draw to turn snooze on
- your morning routines and their tasks
- your wake-up history and streaks
- your written reason for waking up
- which cards you show on the Morning screen, and your reminder settings
- your appearance and units settings
- the model of the phone that made the copy, a short code for that install, and the app version, so copies from two phones can be told apart
The photo you register for a photo mission is not included. The copy is upload only: the app never downloads it onto a phone, so nothing you have set up can change underneath you while you sleep. Each phone writes its own copy. We do not read it, and deleting your account deletes it.
Your morning routine on the lock screen
When your morning routine is showing on your lock screen, the app sends that morning’s task names and times to our server, together with a code Apple issues for that lock screen card. Our server uses them to send Apple’s push service the updates that move the card on to your next task while the app is closed. These records are not linked to your account and are deleted within two days.
Photo missions
When you complete a photo mission, the photo you take and the photo you registered are sent through our server to Anthropic, whose AI checks that they match. Our server does not keep them. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, they are not used to train its models.
What stays on your phone
The following is stored only on your iPhone and never sent to us:
- your commutes, saved places, recent addresses, stops and commute checklists. To find places and plan routes, the addresses involved are sent to Apple Maps, never to us.
- the reference photo for a photo mission, and the photos taken for it
- your profile picture
- your detailed morning statistics and Alertness Check results
- your bedtime settings
- the app’s activity log, which leaves your phone only if you choose to share it
Permissions, and what each one is for
Mornin’ asks for each of these only when a feature needs it, and uses it only for that feature.
- Location, only while the app is open: for your local weather and to time your commute. Your location goes to Apple’s weather and maps services, and to Open-Meteo if Apple’s weather is unavailable. It is never sent to our servers, and Mornin’ never asks for your location in the background.
- Calendars and Reminders: to show your day on the Morning screen, and to tick off, change or delete a reminder when you do so in Mornin’. All of this happens on your phone and is never sent anywhere.
- Notifications: for your alarms, your bedtime reminder, and to tell you when it is time to leave.
- Alarms: so your alarms ring full screen even when your phone is locked or silenced.
- Camera: for the photo, barcode and light missions. Photo missions are checked as described above. Barcodes and light levels are read on your phone and never sent.
- Motion and Fitness: so the Walk mission can count your steps. Processed on your phone.
Mornin’ does not use your microphone, your contacts or your health data, and it does not access your photo library. If you choose a profile picture, Apple’s photo picker gives the app only the photo you pick.
The services we use
- Supabase hosts your account, the copy of your settings, the lock screen routine records and the photo mission check.
- Apple provides sign-in with Apple, weather, maps and routes, the push service for the lock screen card, and all purchases.
- Google handles sign-in, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Open-Meteo receives your approximate location to return a forecast, only if Apple’s weather is unavailable.
- Anthropic checks photo mission pictures.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Mornin’ Pro, the purchase is handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Deleting your account and your data
In the app, open Settings, tap your account at the top, then Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and the copy of your settings held in it, and erases the app’s data on that phone. It cannot be undone, and afterwards we hold nothing from which any of it could be restored. The lock screen routine records are not linked to your account and are deleted within two days in any case.
Deleting the app without deleting your account removes the data on your phone but leaves your account and its copy. Use Delete Account if you want both gone.
Children
Mornin’ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
